Poysdorf

Your stay in Poysdorf

Poysdorf has been known as Austria’s wine and sparkling wine capital for centuries. Most important is the „Pfefferl“ – this distinctive pepper spice in its wines. The long history of viticulture and wine production is not only portrayed in their sign: two winemakers carry a long stick with a huge grape. This scene from the Holy Bible shows the importance of the winemaking tradition in our hometown.

With 1400 hectares of vineyards, Poysdorf in the northeast of the Weinviertel is one of the largest wine-growing regions in Austria. The most popular vineyards are called „Kirchbergen“, „Bürsting“ or the very first officially mentioned vineyard in Austria: (1338) „Herrmannschachern“, Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Riesling, Grüner Sylvaner and Zweigelt thrive.
