Winery

Hirtl means tradition.

The family’s wine-making tradition dates back to 1729.
And it is this experience of nearly over 300 years combined with modern know how that Martin and Andrea who took over the winery in 2001 rely on in setting new quality standards in their 20 hectares of vineyards.

Their enthusiasm and commitment to wine, their philosophy of linking tradition and modern standards and last but not least the character of the soils around Poysdorf form the basis for the outstanding wines of the family.
And it is above all the Grüner Veltliner – the leading variety of the Weinviertel – and the DAC philosophy which Martin and Andrea feel particularly committed to: strictly controlled quality and preservation of the unique regional character of the Veltliner.
